HOW TO WATCH WORLD CUP 2018 ON YOUR MOBILE DEVICES

The game is on and OMG it has been an exciting World Cup to date. I have watched the World Cup since Italia 90, and I don't remember teams playing their heart out in their first match of the Group Stage, until Russia 2018. I hope the underdog teams will continue to create more upsets as the 2nd match starts tomorrow morning when Russia go against Egypt at 2am Singapore time!

In the last article, I covered how to watch Russia 2018 World Cup with a subscription fee of just SGD 18.50. I have been getting many requests on how to view the matches on mobile devices such as phones., tablets or Ipads. The last article, I only wrote and showed steps on how to watch the games live on a laptop.  So dear friends, you are in for a treat today because I will show you how to watch the games on your mobile devices, both Android and IOS. Can I hear a HELL YEAH, please?

ON ANDROID

If you have followed my previous article on the World Cup subscription, you would know that you first need a subscription to Express VPN (SGD 18.50 subscription fees). You can check it out by clicking the link below.

The matches can then be caught live from either on BBC or ITV website. Because both are UK exclusive websites, you will not be able to download the apps from your Google Play store. Why??? Because BBC and ITV apps can only be found in UK region of the Google Play store. However, you can download both the apps from the 3rd party App Store on Android called Aptoide.

1) Press on the link below to download Aptoide on your Android device.

2) Install Aptoide on your Android Device

3) Open Aptoide. Press on the search function and type in BBC IPLAYER. Download and install BBC Iplayer on your Android Device.

4) Go back to search and type in ITV Hub. Download and install ITV Hub on your Android devices.

5) Open BBC Iplayer to watch matches live playing on BBC and open ITV Hub to watch live matches playing on ITV. Check out the fixture below to see which matches are playing on which website.

6) Do take note that you need to have both a BBC Iplayer or ITV account to play the live matches on both the apps. So when the screen prompts you to sign in, sign in with your created accounts. If you have not created any, please do so.

* PLEASE REMEMBER TO USE THE EXPRESS VPN APP BEFORE OPENING BBC IPLAYER OR ITV HUB APP. YOU NEED TO CONNECT TO A UK SERVER.

ON IOS

For IOS devices, it is a little more complicated as you need to create a UK Apple ID before you are able to download BBC Iplayer or ITV Hub app into your iPhones or iPads.

1) I found a good article that accurately shows you how to create a UK Apple ID, press on the link below. Before you create the UK Apple ID, create a new email account. Just create a new one under Gmail to simplify your life.

2) Once you have successfully created a UK Apple ID, it is time to sign in and change your current App Store from Singapore to UK. Go to settings, look for Itunes & Appstore, press on it and you will see your current email address. Press on the email address and you get several options with "Sign out" being one of them. Press the "Sign Out".

3) Press the "Sign In" option and enter your UK Apple ID along with the password. You will then be automatically transferred to the App Store. If you do it correctly, the App Store you are looking at right now is the UK App Store.

* If you prompted to input a valid UK phone number, you can input this - +44 7911 123456

4) Search for BBC Iplayer and ITV Hub. Download and install the apps on your device.

5) Open the apps and sign in with your BBC or ITV account respectively.

6) Do take note that you need to have both a BBC Iplayer or ITV account to play the live matches on both the apps. So when the screen prompts you to sign in, sign in with your created accounts. If you have not created any, please do so.

Hopefully when the matches restart for the 2nd game of the Group Stage, you can now view the matches live on your mobile devices instead of relying on your laptops. I have been watching mine on either my laptop or my Smart LG TV.

For me, the most impressive team display has got to be Peru. Although they lost to Denmark in their opening game, they were the better side. Who has impressed you the most?

I hope to see more underdogs triumph over those over-rated teams. I hope the thrills and the drama continues all the way to the final. Cheers.
