TOP 5 IOS 10 FEATURES

APPLE WWDC 2016 KEYNOTE DIDN'T DISAPPOINT

Apple announced a series of contents and updates in an already feature packed WWDC 2016. Amidst all the things said, IOS 10 seemed to be the best. As Apple's presentation moved from slides to slides, we could only digest so much. Here are some of the best ones for IOS 10 updates -

1. THE REVAMPED IMESSAGE

The current IMessage is already alright by messaging standards. The new Imessage will feature some crazy features such as hand drawn message, lots of emojis, emojis that can substitute actual words in the text messages, special effects that emulate how the tone of the text is (blurred images, disco lights, etc). We have seen some messaging apps using these features before. What Apple did, is they collated all these silly but fun features and bringing it to the next version of IMessage.

2. A MUCH MORE HELPFUL SIRI

I don't know about you. But I think Apple's Siri is one of the worst assistants out there. It is being dwarfed by Cortana, Google and the awesome Alexa. Because of its shortfalls, Apple has finally see fit to enhance it so that it can now support 3rd party apps. This means that Siri can now help you to send text messages or calling an Uber ride for you. Welcome to the current technology Apple!

3. "DELETABLE" BLOATWARES

Apple is finally giving their customers license to "delete" those unused or not needed default apps like Game Centre, Find Friends, etc. Well actually we don't get to delete them permanently. Apple said that we can hide it from sight. That is good enough for me. I hate seeing them taking space in my folders. I even had to give these apps a folder of their own - "Extras".

4. HOMEKIT APP

Since SIRI will be updated to be compatible with 3rd party apps, it also quite natural for Apple to include its own Homekit App. Autonomous home hub to control all your smart appliances is all the rage these days. With the Homekit App, you do not need to download seperate apps for these smart appliances anymore. You can integrate appliances such as Phillips Smart Hue into The Homekit App. Now, you will have the One App.....One App to control them all.....One App to bring them all....One App to.....oh well, you get the idea.

5. LIFT TO WAKE FEATURE

I have the unfortunate experience of living with in-operable home button of an Iphone before. One of the biggest reasons why that could happen is the over pressing of the said button. It will wear out after some time, eventually. This Lift To Wake feature will probably extend its usability by 50%. What it does is, whenever you pick up your Iphones, it will wake up. All you need to do is scan your fingers on the home button to unlock. It might be something that isn't major at all but it is actually something very technically important.

So there you have it. 5 of the best features for IOS 10. We do not have an official date for its release yet. But knowing how Apple is, you can expect it to be out somewhere in September. So till then. Laters!
